Absolute welcomes Ben Eastwood as Business Development Manager, a role that will enhance our customers relations in the North East and support our sales team in a time of exciting growth.

Born and raised just around the corner from Absolute’s Harrogate office, Ben moved up to Newcastle University following his school years to study English and fell in love with the North East, where he has lived for the last 7 years.

Since University, Ben started to build his career as a salesperson, with a background in both FMCG and Capital Goods.

He previously worked as a Business Development Manager, where he significantly enriched his operational abilities within a kitchen design and sales role.

This is where he had turn-key responsibilities that included site surveying, design, product specification and pricing to meet the needs of both end-users and trade customers.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys music and films and he is also a very keen cook as he loves creating authentic dishes from all around the world.

We had a chat with Ben to get to know more about him and his motivation to join Absolute.

What made you join Absolute?

One of the biggest things that attracted me to Absolute was the chance to join an intimate but highly entrepreneurial and ambitious team, that is highly regarded for the quality of their service and products. The fact that Absolute was looking to recruit a new Business Development Manager for my local region of the North East just made perfect sense.

What excites you about your new role?

The North East is in a period of rapid commercial growth at the moment, with many start-ups as well as large corporate multi-nationals choosing this region for their workplaces. It’s very exciting to be a part of the region’s continued business development, especially along with the team from Absolute.

What are your short term goals and long term goals here at Absolute?

Short term I would love to see the North East developed as a region which continues to bring in exciting opportunities for Absolute. Long term, it would be fantastic to see that development expand into a North Eastern division for Absolute, with a permanent team based up in the Newcastle.

What’s your favourite place to visit?

It’s great to get up to the West Coast of Scotland, and even better when the sun is actually shining!

In your opinion, what makes a good office?

A nice environment that you enjoy coming into and that you can be proud of – this leads to a happy and harmonious team, which is the most important thing for a good office culture.
